This website provides the reader with up to date and easy to read information about influenza. The content covers everything from basic structure, classification, clinical symptoms, treatment and vaccination, to influenza in animals, and the well known past and recent influenza epidemics and pandemics, ie Spanish flu, bird flu, swine flu and equine flu. We also deal with influenza as a bioterrorist weapon, but a broader review on bioterrorism is still to be completed.

Dr Deo de Wit, the author of this website, is the Director of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Gosford Hospital in New South Wales, Australia and is therefore well qualified to write this site (see Author for full CV).

Deo has a keen interest in influenza and bioterrorism and recently published his first work of fiction, The Antarctic Code. This gripping thriller explores the possibility that some recent influenza pandemics are a result bioterrorism.
